This book can help every entrepreneur dramatically increase the likelihood of success by providing step-by-step guidance on how to approach starting a new business. A few of the steps in there are fairly repetitive, especially in the beginning.
None of the questions can be properly answered without the reader first answering the question that Aulet suggests every would-be entrepreneur answer: This is the book I’ve been looking for my whole life–a step by step guide that clearly outlines the essential considerations to build a successful organization.
If you’re a serious entrepreneur, read it carefully and keep it close at hand for the journey ahead. It won’t be an easy journey, but Bill takes you through the steps, acts as your guide, and makes it all manageable. I highly recommend it. Very helpful book if you are planning to start a new venture.

Way too academic and theoretical for a first time entrepreneur. The book was primarily written as a coursebook for the author’s entrepreneurship course at MIT.

There are many considerations in this process and this book captures them well and provides practical guidance on how to resolve them. It has a lot of shades of “Startup Owners Manual” and “Lean Startup”, which makes sense consdiering those are two seminal tomes of the Discipluned world.

Fun, practical, and a huge help. I feel the need to disclose this so aulef don’t think I’m shilling for Bill’s book, and blil kind of nerdbrag a little bit. Also 24 steps can come off as too many to remember, but the problem of how many layers of abstraction one should add to a concept like entrepreneurship is difficult to solve.
