The novel is a coming-of-age drama in which the characters must confront their fear of death and challenge their notions of it. It has romantic elements that are very appealing and apparent, but it’s really a story about coming to terms with death.
View the Study Pack. There were times I found it a bit tedious, if only because there was less action than I usually like. Some things that bothered me: Ultimately about grief and accepting death, The Silver Kiss is a love story between a mortal girl and a creature of the night, something not too out of the ordinary in the teen-vampire genre. Klause writes teen alienation extremely well, and also tends to show pronounced sympathy with the monsters while keeping keenly conscious of the awareness that they are monsters; The Silver Kiss klakse no different here.
Sometimes I feel like I can’t truly judge a book unless I finish the book.
You could feel their connection through their shared loneliness. Want to Read saving…. And then just you feel lonely and stupid you let him in.

I mean why would you let the guy you love rest his head on your breasts until he dies from the sunlight? First we have Simon, a vampire who gives Edward a run for his money in the self loathing category.
Sadly it did not get any better.

What would it be like if nothing changed? I hadn’t really sllver much out of The Silver Kiss because it seems like some people just don’t like it all that much. Also included with the short stories was a generous introduction by the author, where she goes into a great amount of detail about what the novel means to her and how she first put it to paper and ushered it through publication process.
His growing attachment to the silvr girl plunges them both into danger as he also seeks to finally put an end to the twisted vampiric child Christopher; his own brother who is a sadistic, vile and beastly version of what Simon could become.
I read the Author’s introduction and I must say that I totally understand why it took years to even get this story published. A monster has taken the life of his mother and the monster he has become is forced to watch his father die from afar. Different story line idea Jan 15, Roanne Araneta rated it it was amazing.

OK first thing this book has 4 stars from me not because it’s the best or because at the moment it was good. So thanks for taking up space of my slver when now I could be reviewing about some other book I might’ve read that probably would have been a bad book also.

The Silver Kiss was her first novel. Klause does a nice job of balancing the realistic hurt that Zoe, her mom, and her dad are feeling with the supernatural hurt of Simon and his situation.
Thank goodness I only borrowed it from the library. Read silvef full review on Forever Young Adult. I would not recommend this read. Kid creator who’s name I forgot and don’t care to remember: She holds a BA in English literature, is head of children’s services at a community library, and is also a reviewer for School Library Journal. His only sibling is dead for all intent and purposes. The ending made me cry. Anyway, now that I got that out of the way, this book did have it’s good points as well.
